Finally, in late November 2006, after four years of meditating on the
sound and light, I went to see my Supreme Master Ching Hai in Thailand.
It was on the second day of the ten day retreat that I was able to see
her, she was full of life, gracious and beautiful. But I couldn't not
appreciate this properly, because all I could think was... look at me
Master, notice me, acknowledge me! My mind was so active and selfish
that the whole experience flitted by and I can hardly remember much of
it, even though the Master gave a hilarious evangelist impersonation
and a beautiful recital of the Holy Names.

On the third day, to my absolute surprise I was whisked out of one
meditation hall with a group of English speaking initiates right to the
feet of the Master, amongst a group of Chinese all asking questions
which were more or less irritating the Master. I could gaze on her up
close, and although my mind was quieter, I still longed to catch Her
eye and receive that elusive personal acknowledgement that all Her
students desire.

I only pray that I will have another chance to sit at the Master's
feet, happy as a child, free from the fetters of the selfish mind.

The retreat was huge, over 30,000 people, mostly Chinese and Au Lac
practitioners with a small percentage of westerners, Africans and
others. There were some problems getting everyone comfortably off the
bus and into a room for the first few days, with many people baring the
warm weather day and night. Nonetheless, they were part of a historic
occasion as the world was further uplifted into the Golden Age just
become.

Dearest Master I hope to see you again soon in your glorious
incarnation, but will be just as happy to go with you beyond the gate
of wisdom and life. I hope the universe protects you and makes your
days pleasant and full of laughter and simplicity.

I too was in Thailand: I'm glad you got to see Master at last.
Of course, we all long for Master to notice us, many asking useless
questions for just that reason. It's ego, of course.
Even if She doesn't visibly notice us, Master still answers our inner
questions: we come away feeling answered, without the need of speaking.

Wishing you success on the Path.
